Movie Sunday: The Fault in Our Stars

I finally saw this movie yesterday ( I know, I’m so late to the party). The Fault in Our Stars is based on Best Seller book written by John Green.  Basically the story is about two cancer kids who met in a Cancer Support Group and fell in love, yada yada yada. The first time I read the book, I never thought I would shed a tear — only because I had this expectation in mind that its gonna be another “Walk to Remember”. The girl got cancer, fell in love with a boy and she died. Man, I could not have been more wrong in my life. Damn you, Mr. John Green.

So this is my two cents about the movie. Overall, I like it. Its so true to the book (i think, eventho the book still way better than the movie of course). Ansel was really convincing as Gus — after I get it out of my mind that he is Caleb in Divergent. I like him. And Shai as Tr… errr I mean Hazel Grace, was –and I hate to admit, fantastic. There I said it. The guy who played as Mr Van Houten was really good. He gave off that douche-ness vibes. Did I cry watching the movie like I do when I read the book? No. Although, there is a lump in my throat and I don’t know if its the flu or because I’m this close to losing my shit, but yeah. I did have lil bit fangirling moment when John Green made an appearance. And I think he was cut off from the movie — I remember him said that on his Youtube Channel. I watch this on Blu-Rays version in case you wondering.

vlcsnap-64135Hi Mr. John Green!

I gave it 3 and a half stars. I like it. Great casts and great performance. Soundtrack was okay, nothing really sticks out to me.
