Summary: In crisp black and white manga pictures, Ethan Wate narrates his dreams, haunted an unreachable raven-haired beauty. When she moves into the small Southern town Blackwood mansion of her protective Uncle Macon, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her. As her 16th birthday nears, Lena must choose – or will the family curse choose for her?
There were no surprises in Gatlin County .. the middle of nowhere.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave
I’ve never have such a luck with Beautiful Creatures. I flounced the original book and fell asleep while watching the movie adaptation. With the movie, I guess it was lack of chemistry and I hated how it was being compared to Twilight. I just don’t. And with the book, it was too much details that I think that wasn’t necessary and I feel like Ethan Wate is the worst narrator ever he bored me halfway through the story that I feel like “Girl, bye.”. Still, i have no idea why I bother to buy the Manga adaptation. But glad that I did. Surprisingly i like the Manga the adaptation much better. It was so neat and the artwork was so great. I don’t even care that it was black and white. I really enjoy it. I gave 4 stars mostly because of the artworks. I would like to continue this series in the Manga adaptation format in the future.
Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl also wrote the spin-off about Lena Duchannes’s cousin —Ridley Duchannes— Dangerous Creatures. I’m intrigue to read her story to be quite honest. Maybe I’ll pick it up when I saw it in the bookstore.
