MY EXPERIENCE WITH ONLINE SHOP

In this millennial era, where anything is available online, people would rather shop online than buy the stuff that they want at the actual store. One of the main reason is because people don’t have the time to go to the store because of their demanding working hours or would prefer to use that time to do something more important, or, in my case, I just hate human interaction ;P. I mean, online shopping is as simple as picking up your phone.

Of course there are pro and con when it comes to shop online.

I have never really encountered the con (this bad) until recently.

At first, I don’t wanna make a big deal out of it and it’s not like I’m new to this. This is happening to any of us and it’s not like my post about this gonna stop all of the online shop scammers out there. You would think that this is nothing and I’m just being extra. But you know what? The hell with that. I need to share this so that I can move on and stop thinking about it anymore. So here is my-not-so-fun story about online shopping.

I was looking for a phone case, a cute ones. The phone I’m currently using is Xiaomi Redmi 3S. Unless your phone is either iPhone or Samsung you can forget about having cute phone cases. It’s really hard to find one that fit with my aesthetic. Until one day, I came across this Instagram account called pinkpastelcase—that sell custom made phone cases. Their designs are so aesthetic and looks legit. So I hit them up and tell them which design that I want, transfer the money and confirmed my payment. You know the drill.

One week has passed since I confirmed my payment and no further follow up from the seller whether my phone cases being made or the estimation time when they’re ready to ship my order. So I asked them on their LINE account.

No response.

A month later, still no response. So I DM them on Instagram.

Surprise surprise I just got hit and run by a scammer.

What makes me angry was not because they took my money [okay, I’m lowkey mad], but because their lack of response. Even when I emailed or commented on their Instagram, as I’m writing this, I still got no response while their account still active posting new pictures, probably to scam their next customer.

This incident makes me more cautious when it comes to online shopping. Especially the ones that sell their products on Instagram. I become more “Impatient” when the seller didn’t respond immediately  after I paid my order or when it took so long for them to send my order. I’m fully aware it can be annoying from the seller point of view, but I just can’t help it.  They made me like this.

So be careful guys. Especially my Indonesian readers, please take note, to never order anything from pinkpastelcase.

Until next time.
