Movie Sunday: Spider-Man: Homecoming

I just wanna say that I’ve never read Spider-Man comics. Any Marvel nor DC comics. I guess I just didn’t introduce to it when I was young. Anyway, I came watching this with my lowest expectation. Because, out of all the Marvel heroes that I’ve watched, I’ve never been a fan of Spider-Man. He just… too angsty for my liking. *whisper* Teenage angsty boys are the worst! I was expecting it to be; got bitten by a spider, uncle Ben died, and the girl he was crushing with got kidnapped by the bad guy, yada yada yada. I mean, I literally meant to watch this just because of Tony Stark made an appearance, and that’s it.

Boy, I don’t want to give a spoiler, but man oh man, I can definitely say that Spider-Man: Homecoming is the best Spider-Man movie so far. Peter Parker in this movie is more…fun. For once, he’s not as angsty as the other two. I actually like him. Don’t even mention his scene stealer best friend. And the twist at the end…*slow clap*

Also don’t forget my sexy man, Tony Stark. His appearance is not as many as my liking, but hey, better than none. I love that he is some kind of father figure/mentor to Peter. It was hysterical and sweet at the same time.

Please do yourself a favor and go watch this movie. Tom Holland really did a great job in it. I hope we get to see more of Zendaya in the next movie. She was awesome! I really like her character. If she is what I think she will be, this would be legendary!

Oh, and Aunt May is young and really hot.

Movie Sunday: Kungfu Panda 3

Kung fu Panda never disappoints. It just get better and better with each movie. I was blubbering mess after watching this movie.

So in this movie we get to see Po biological father – Li Shan. He’s going to help Po to become a master Chi, to defeat a supernatural villain—Kai, who has been defeating all kung fu masters across China. And to achieve that, Po has to learn how to be himself, a panda. Later we found out to master a chi, we don’t have to be as good as other people. We can’t. We just have to be the best person of ourselves. Do what you know best. Pursue that. If you could master it, you’ll have the chi.

This topic really hit me home, because until now, I’m still figuring out what I want to be in life, who I really am? I’m probably the only grown woman who’s crying in a theater full of kids. I’M NOT ASHAMED OF THAT. It gave me ALL THE FEELS.

I gave this movie  5 stars.

Funny panda story who loves to eat dumpling but has a great message behind it. I highly, highly recommended it!

Movie Sunday: Deadpool

I saw this movie last week with my mom and my brother. Deadpool has me right at the beginning of the movie. And it held throughout the movie. Unlike your typical superhero movie, Deadpool doesn’t want to be called a hero. He delivered all this funny lines and make fun of the other heroes or Ryan Reynolds…aka Mr. Deadpool himself! The movie started off with Deadpool chasing his enemy—Francis (played by Ed Skrein. Really hot, by the way! Go Google him!). He wanted to have his face fixed because the lab who made him a ‘hero’ had ruined his pretty face in the process.

I gotta admit tho, Ryan Reynolds is hella basic. I mean, it took him two (?) superhero movies to finally made a hit. But I gotta give it to him this time. He was freaking hilarious. I just can’t stop laughing. Kudos to the scriptwriters of this movie!

I gave Deadpool 4 stars. Great hero / romantic-comedy movie—perfect movie date. Great soundtrack too—yes I love those old school songs. Great cast! I highly recommended!

Movie Sunday: The Fault in Our Stars

I finally saw this movie yesterday ( I know, I’m so late to the party). The Fault in Our Stars is based on Best Seller book written by John Green.  Basically the story is about two cancer kids who met in a Cancer Support Group and fell in love, yada yada yada. The first time I read the book, I never thought I would shed a tear — only because I had this expectation in mind that its gonna be another “Walk to Remember”. The girl got cancer, fell in love with a boy and she died. Man, I could not have been more wrong in my life. Damn you, Mr. John Green.
